Three Bodies examines the relationship between the human body, Earth, and Moon through artworks designed as guides for active meditation. Featuring paintings, sound, and an interactive installation, the exhibition explores shared rhythms and resonances between celestial and human systems. Materials like volcanic sand and calcium, an essential component of skeletons, Earth’s crust, and the Moon’s surface, evoke mutual ancestries across geological time. Meanwhile, moonquake frequencies, adjusted to an audible range, echo bodily rhythms such as deep sleep cycles and resting heart rates, inviting reflection on the body’s relationship to larger patterns. By blending neuroscience, meditation, and somatic practices, the exhibition challenges human-centric perspectives and creates a space to experience interconnectedness through embodiment.
In addition to the artworks, the exhibition includes a public program with a collaborative breathwork session and a planetary sound meditation, fostering participatory frameworks that deepen sensory engagement.
Jamie Denburg Habie is a Guatemalan artist and cultural practitioner based in Antigua, Guatemala. Her work explores unexpected relationships between human, mineral, animal, and celestial bodies to challenge human-centric narratives and emphasize synergies between systems. Often interactive, her practice draws from neuroscience, material studies, meditation, somatic practices, and political ecologies to create spaces of empathy and connection through embodiment. A graduate of Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University, Jamie has an interdisciplinary background in art and politics. Jamie co-founded and formerly directed La Nueva Fábrica (est. 2013), a non-profit contemporary art space in Antigua, Guatemala dedicated to empowering diverse communities through exhibitions, education, residencies, and global partnerships.
